Guidelines for a professional and enriching diplomatic experience
Official IHSANTRAIN'25 Code of Conduct
As the Secretariat of IHSANTRAIN'25, we expect all delegates to strictly adhere to the following rules to ensure a professional, respectful, and smooth-running conference. These guidelines are non-negotiable and have been designed to maximize both the quality of debate and your overall experience.
Dress Code
- All delegates must wear Western Business Attire at all times.
- Clothing must be modest and elegant, reflecting both your role as a diplomat and our school's values.
- Boys: Suit, tie, dress shirt, formal trousers, dress shoes.
- Girls: Blouse, blazer, long skirt or formal trousers, elegant shoes.
- Casual clothing (jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, etc.) is not permitted.
Diplomatic Decorum
- You are representing nations, not yourselves. Conduct must be formal, calm, and diplomatic at all times.
- Maintain peaceful dialogue. Disruptive behavior, shouting, or unprofessional speech will not be tolerated.
- Always address your fellow delegates with respect, even in disagreement.
Respect for Authority
- The Secretariat's word is final.
- All members of the Secretariat, Chairs, Admins, PR, and Logistics Teams must be treated with absolute respect.
- You are expected to follow all instructions given by your Chairs and Conference Staff without exception.
- Disrespect toward any member of the team may result in disciplinary action or removal from committee.
Attendance and Punctuality
- Do not miss sessions without valid reason.
- Late arrivals are disruptive and disrespectful to the committee, try to be punctual.
- Delegates must remain in committee unless given permission to step out by their Chairs or Admins.
Professionalism in Communication
- All conversations — both inside and outside of committee — must remain formal and respectful.
- Offensive jokes, slang, slurs, or speech that undermines the spirit of MUN will not be tolerated.
- This includes during breaks, in the hallways, and in any official delegate group chats.
Respect for Property
- Delegates are expected to treat school property with care.
- Damaging furniture, writing on walls, or any form of vandalism will result in immediate consequences.
- Clean up after yourself. Maintain a professional environment.
Respect for the Chairboard
- The Chairboard is here to facilitate debate, ensure procedural accuracy, and create a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all delegates.
- Delegates are expected to treat the Chairboard with the utmost respect at all times. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
- The Chairboard holds ultimate authority over committee proceedings, including moderating debate, granting the right to speak, and maintaining order.
- In consultation with the Deputy Secretary-General, the Chairboard will have the ultimate say in determining awards based on performance, diplomacy, and adherence to rules of procedure.

- These rules are not to restrict you, but to maximize the value of your experience.
- A respectful, safe, and organized environment ensures that every delegate can participate fully and enjoyably.
- We are here to learn, grow, and have fun.
